Fear and loathing
Random thoughts on "MacArthur Park," homophobic men—and the scariest TV series I've seen in a while
—And I quote: "If you are always trying to be normal you will never know how amazing you can be.”—Maya Angelou
—Stigma alert: Since it’s Pride Month, I thought I’d air this: Why do some straight men fear that any and every LGBTQ+ man is going to suddenly approach them? Remember: Everyone has standards.
—Justin time: Justin Timberlake was arrested for a DWI in New York. The downside? When you’re a public figure, everyone knows your business. The upside? If the DWI is true, then he was apprehended before he could’ve possibly hurt or killed someone.
—Advice: You can’t be someone’s doormat unless you lie on the floor. Get up from there!
` —Just wondering: How many Despicable Me movies will there be? If it makes money, Hollywood will find a way to make a sequel or three. And, speaking of which, I’m 100% sure another Inside Out movie is around the bend; after all, it made $155 million on its opening weekend.
—“Park” place: SAG-winning Glee veteran Amber Riley and musician Micah McLaurin have released the music video for their reimagination of multiple Grammy-winning, cross-genre songwriter Jimmy Webb’s hit single “MacArthur Park.”
If anyone can make heads or tails of the actual lyrics, please explain them to me: “MacArthur's Park is melting in the dark/ All the sweet, green icing flowing down/ Someone left the cake out in the rain.” Anyway—enjoy the video!
—Fear and against: I am truly convinced that I’ve seen one of the scariest TV series ever.
And I’ll tell you why it’s so scary—because it’s true.
